Produced and directed by Engaging the Senses Foundation, The Story of Everything (TSOE) is a multimedia film based on a theatre piece of the same title. TSOE explores humanity’s rich and diverse explanations for the origins of life, presenting powerful solutions for the continued health of the planet at a time when we’re confronting the most severe crisis the earth has ever faced.
A riveting performance that presses back against climate despair, The Story of Everything incorporates poetry, dance, music, art and special effects to condense 13.7 billion years into an hour and 45 minutes that asks and answers the question challenging humans from the very beginning: “Where do we come from?” And even more important: Where do we go next?
Starring Kealoha, Poet Laureate Emeritus of Hawai’i and MIT graduate, along with a supremely talented cast of musicians, dancers, visual artists, and a master of Oli, TSOE won the Maui Film Fest’s People’s Choice Award in 2022, and was an Official Selection for the Hawai’i Film Festival 2022, and The Awareness Film Fest, 2023.
In an era when we face both the knowledge that the historical and present-day injustices of systemic racism consistently expose people of color to reduced quality of life, and that the world itself is in peril due to climate change, a project focused on light, on solutions, and on the transmission of hope is a cause for celebration.
